Before You Proceed–>>

  • This tutorial is intended only for Sony Xperia Mini with model number ST15i/ST15a. Trying this tutorial on any other device or any other variant of Sony Xperia Mini may brick your device.
  • Make sure you have a recovery image like Clockworkmod installed on your device.
  • Ensure that you have USB drivers for your device installed on your PC. If you don’t then click here.
  • Enable USB Debugging mode. Go to Options > Applications > Development > USB Debugging.
  • Backup all your personal information on your device.
    Use AppBak to backup all your apps.
    Use SMS Backup and Restore to backup messages.
    You can backup your contacts using gmail .
  • Charge your device battery with atleast 75% of power.

How To Update Sony Xperia Mini ST15i/ST15a To Android 4.1.2 | Paranoid Custom ROM

  1. Initially you need to download the Paranoidandroid Jelly Bean 4.1.2  save the zip file to a convenient folder on your PC.
  2. Now download Google Apps and save it to a convenient folder as well.
  3. Connect your device to your PC via USB cable.
  4. Copy the downloaded file on the internal SD card of your phone.
  5. Now turn off your phone and boot your phone into recovery mode.
  6. Now to get in the Recovery Mode, press and hold Volume Up +Home buttons together.
    Note-You can use Volume Buttons to navigate and Power/Home button to select.
  7. Now select ‘ Wipe data/Factory reset and confirm on the next screen by pressing power button.
  8. Now select ‘ Wipe cache ‘ and confirm by pressing power button.
  9. Now select ‘ Advanced –> Wipe Dalvik cache and confirm by pressing power button .
  10. Then select ‘ Flash ZIP From SD Card ‘ and then select Choose ZIP From SD Card and browse to the Android 4.1.2 ROM file that you copied to your device’s SD card in step 4. Select the file and confirm by pressing power button. The installation will start.
  11. Once the installation is finished, install the google apps package by following step 10.
  12. When you finish installing google apps package, select Go back and select Reboot system now.
  13. Now your device will boot with the whole new Look and feel of Jelly Bean 4.1.2.

That’s it!! You have successfully managed  to update your Sony Xperia Mini ST15i/ST15a to Jelly Bean 4.1.2 Paranoidandroid Custom ROM!

    getting “status 7″ error with every rom. please help

      Problem must be with your Bootloader then. You should Google for CM 10 for your device. That is the most stable version for your phone.

        i’ve been unlocked bootloader with the help and key of vendor.

    im getting status 7. do i need unlock my bootloader or just try to install CM10 the same way

      Status 7 is mostly due to unlocked Bootloader. You should try unlocking your Bootloader and try the process again.
