An Unofficial port has been released for Motorola RAZR HD XT 926, and using the step by step instructions given below, you can easily update your phone to the latest Android Jelly Bean 4.2.1 .

Before You Proceed–>>

  • Make sure you have Motorola RAZR HD with model number XT 926 only. Trying this Rom on a different device may eventually brick your device.

    Use SMS Backup and Restore to backup messages.
    You can backup your contacts using gmail .
  • Charge your device battery with atleast 75% of power.

How To Update Motorola Droid RAZR HD XT 926 To Android Jelly Bean 4.2 | CM 10.1 ROM

  1. First you need to download the CyanogenMod 10.1 Custom Rom and save it to a convenient folder on your PC.
  2. Now download the Google Apps Package .
  3. Now connect your phone via USB cable, and copy both the files to your to your phone.
  4. Now turn off your phone and switch it ON. When you see the Motorola Splash Screen, select Safe Strap Recovery mode Option.
  5. In the Recovery menu, select the ” Backup ” option. This NANDROID backup is for your current Rom. Actually this acts as a restore point if at all anything goes wrong during the updation process.
  6. Now select the ‘Boot Options’ selection in SafeStrap recovery menu and then select the ‘ROM-Slot-1′ option. Now you need to change the ‘minimum data partition size’ to 1 GB.
    Note- Generally a size of 1 GB is enough to install this ROM. However, if you need to install more apps in future, then you can enter any size you want, depending on your phone’s memory.
  7. After you have finished with partitioning, select ” Home ” in SafeStrap and then go to the main menu of the recovery.
  8. Now select Install and browse to the CyanogenMod 10.1 Rom file that you copied in step3.
  9. Wait for the ROM to install. When the installation is finished, Install google apps package in the same way by following step 8.
  10. After you finish installing Google Apps Package, go back to main recovery menu and select ‘reboot system now’ to reboot your phone.
  11. You are all done to use the newly installed ROM and the whole amazing look and feel of Android 4.2.1 .
