How To Update LG Optimus L3 E400 To Android 4.0.4 | CM9 Rom

However a CyanogenMod of version 9 is found to be compatible and steady for LG Optimus L3 E400. We have a detailed and easy to follow tutorial which will guide you to update your LG Optimus L3 E400.

Before You Proceed–>

  • This tutorial is intended only for LG Optimus L3 with model number E400. Trying this tutorial on any other device or any other variant of LG Optimus L3 may eventually brick your device.
  • Make sure you have a recovery image installed on your device. If not, then go to How To Install Clockworkmod Recovery On Lg Optimus L3 E400.
  • Make sure that you have USB drivers for your device installed on your PC. If you don’t then click here.
  • Enable USB Debugging mode. Go to Options > Applications > Development > USB Debugging.
  • Backup all your personal information on your device.
    Use AppBak to backup all your apps.
    Use SMS Backup and Restore to backup messages.
    You can backup your contacts using gmail .
  • Charge your device battery with atleast 75% of power.

How To Update LG Optimus L3 E400 To Android 4.0.4 | CM9 Rom

  1. Initially download CyanogenMod 9 Rom file and Google Apps Package on your PC.
  2. Connect your device to your PC via USB cable.
  3. Copy the downloaded file on the internal SD card of your phone.
  4. Now turn off your phone and boot your phone into recovery mode.
  5. Now to get in the Recovery Mode, download and install Rom Manager and launch it on your device.
  6. Now select Reboot into Recovery and wait for the device to reboot.
  7.  Once in recovery mode, select ‘ Wipe data/Factory reset and confirm on the next screen by pressing power button.
  8. Now select ‘ Wipe cache ‘ and confirm by pressing power button.
  9. Now select ‘ Advanced –> Wipe Dalvik cache and confirm by pressing power button .
  10. Then select ‘ Flash ZIP From SD Card ‘ and then select Choose ZIP From SD Card and browse to the CyanogenMod 9 Rom zip file that you copied to your device’s SD card in step 3. Select the file and confirm by pressing power button. The installation will start.
  11. Once the installation is finished, install the google apps package by following step 10.
  12. When you finish installing google apps package, select Go back and select Reboot system now.
  13. Now your device will boot with the whole new Look and feel of Jelly Bean 4.0.4.

Congratulations ! You have successfully updated your LG Optimus L3 E400 to Android 4.0.4 !
