How To Update Galaxy Note 2 N7100 To Android 4.2.1 | CM 10.1 Rom

Updating your Galaxy Note 2 is a type of mandatory. Since new features and apps are being added in new updates, Galaxy Note 2 users won’t be missing this update getting installed on their device. A lot of features and customization options waiting for you right there. So without waiting for a moment, let’s get started !!

Before You Proceed–>>

  • Remember this tutorial is intended only for Samsung Galaxy with model number N7100. Don’t try this tutorial on any other device as this may brick your device.
  • Before proceeding any further, just make sure if you have a rooted Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and ClockworkMod Reovery installed on it. If you havn’t yet, jus go to How To Root Galaxy Note 2 N7100 Running On Android 4.1.1 .
  • Make sure you have installed USB drivers for Samsung Galaxy Note 2. If not then install the drivers from here.
  • Backup all your personal information on your device.
    Use AppBak to backup all your apps.
    Use SMS Backup and Restore to backup messages.
    You can backup your contacts using gmail .
  • Enable USB Debugging mode. Go to Options > Applications > Development > USB Debugging.
  • Charge your device battery with atleast 75% of power.

How To Update Galaxy Note 2 N7100 To Android 4.2.1 | CM 10.1 Rom

  1. First of all, you need to download CM 10.1 Rom and Google apps package for your Galaxy Note 2.
  2. Now connect your phone to your PC via USB cable.
  3. Copy both the downloaded files to your phone’s SD card and now you can disconnect your phone from computer after you have finished copying the files.
  4. Now switch off your phone and boot in recovery mode. You can boot your device in recovery mode by pressing and holding together ‘ volume up + power button + home  ‘ buttons and when you see the ClockworkMod recovery mode screen, release these buttons.
    Note- Use volume keys to navigate through menu and Power key to select an option while you are in recovery mode.
  5. Now select ‘ Wipe data/Factory reset and confirm on the next screen by pressing power button.
  6. Now select ‘ Wipe cache ‘ and confirm by pressing power button.
  7. Now select ‘ Advanced –> Wipe Dalvik cache and confirm by pressing power button .
  8. Then select ‘ Flash ZIP From SD Card ‘ and then select Choose ZIP From SD Card and browse to the CyanogenMod 10.1 Rom zip file that you copied to your device’s SD card in step 3. Select the file and confirm by pressing power button. The installation will start.
  9. Once the installation is finished, install the google apps package by following step 8.
  10. When you finish installing google apps package, select Go back and select Reboot system now.
  11. Now your device will boot with the whole new Look and feel of Jelly Bean 4.2.1 .

That’s it !! You Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is running on Android Jelly Bean 4.2.1 !
