when i follow the steps to install CWM recovery it says it’s installed and it boots CWM recovery mode, but it does not replace the android recovery and when I reboot and then reboot to recovery mode it’s the android recovery not CWM’s

    • Roque

Its a one time recovery installation. Everytime you reboot your phone, the recovery image will be lost. But why do you need to reboot your phone again? Just install a Custom Rom and just finish off with your ultimate aim of installing CWM Recovery on your phone.

  • ANIRUDH NARAYAN

What exactly is CWM for? I want to install TechnoDUOS Rom on my Galaxy y duo.
So should I root first, install CWM and then install the rom?

    • Roque

Exactly. You need to first install CWM Recovery. Its a recovery image which lets you install various Custom Roms as well as Apps that require root access on your device.
